Feb 23, 2010 · You shouldn't use gross weight, you need to know how much is on each axle. You shouldn't use the full weight on the wheels at one end, you need the sprung weight. Remember to deduct the weight of anything below the spring; axle, wheels, tires, brakes, 1/2 the shock, etc. That 200-300 lbs makes a difference between too stiff and just right.
